About Me
About Koji Hayashi
Hi, I'm Koji, a Tokyo native and an Amsterdammer in training (for the last 12 years).
I'm a marketing consultant who's passionate about bringing ideas into the world. I am curious, creative and love working with people who are committed to charting new paths forward.
For the last 20+ years, I've been fortunate enough to work across different continents, industries and functions, all the while learning from inspiring people. The one thing that’s remained consistent across all my projects is that I really enjoy work when there’s no obvious playbook to follow. Finding the creativity in the messiness of the situation, distilling it down to the very essence of the problem, developing a plan to create maximum impact, and putting it all into action with an amazing group of people - that's the work I truly love.
When not working with clients, I’m a busy dad to young kids - and either cooking, lifting weights or at the (digital) turntables taking techno tracks for a spin. Any great (kids-friendly) recipes or music suggestions are always welcome ;)
P.S My partner, Jo Matthews is a copywriter, communications consultant and a coach and sometimes we partner up to bring a more comprehensive solution or package to companies. Get in touch if you’d like to find out more!
About Asayake Studio
I set up Asayake Studio to help businesses grow sustainably into the future. Whether it's how to boost sales without pumping money into ever-inflating media budgets, or how to build a loyal following of customers who will keep coming back (and who can even do the marketing for you) - I'd love to hear what’s on your mind. Essentially, my mission is to help the businesses and individuals I work with to reach their true potential.
I believe in the enormous amount of energy and life each of us possess, and I also believe they propel us to achieve the most amazing things, especially when we work together. But quite often, this power source is hidden, forgotten, or lost in us.
“Asayake” (read “Ah-sah-yah-keh”) in Asayake Studio is a Japanese word, and it means “the beautiful light and colours seen in the sky at dawn”. My job is to help businesses and individuals find that power source, bring it to the forefront, and let it shine, so that everyone can achieve what they’re meant to. My hope is that everyone I work with can wake up every morning, and go to work with the positive energy we feel when we see the sun rising in the sky.
